Winnie & Matt | Rosario Beach Engagement | PNW

Marriage is one of the greatest adventures a couple can embark on together, so when an engaged duo opt for a location as dynamic, beautiful and exciting as Rosario Beach, the English major in me smiles at the inadvertent metaphor.

One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer here on Whidbey Island is touring the coast with clients that often come from Seattle, Tacoma or even Portland. I love sharing all my favorite spots while getting to know a couple before their big day - and that’s exactly what I got to do with Matt and Winnie!

This engagement session was the first opportunity I had to meet them before their San Juan Island wedding this summer, and I was so excited to get to share a gorgeous evening with both of them. Mother nature pulled out all the stops for us, and even though I didn’t have the eagle eyes to see it, rumor was there were whales playing off the coast.

Once married, the newlyweds will soon be leaving Washington State for their careers, so I’m glad we were able to capture a little bit of the PNW’s beauty in this session. It was a total joy photographing these two (and may I add, Winnie looked stunning in those dresses!) and I can’t wait to photograph them again on their wedding day! Summer is right around the corner, and if you ask this girl, there’s nothing better than summer here on the islands.
