While Whidbey Island is a popular weekend getaway destination for many folks in the Pacific NorthWest with it’s lush terrain, emerald waters and gorgeous mountainscapes, it’s also is home to to many military families stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. The Navy brought us here three years ago, and I’ve been pinching myself ever since. To me, this place is heaven. And it was also the perfect backdrop for Erica and Mike’s beautiful summer wedding. Mike is a pilot out here, and so these newlyweds planned their wedding at the historic Crockett Farm in Coupeville.
Crockett Farm here on Whidbey Island is probably one of the most charming wedding venues out there. It’s so full of character and history, so I was beyond excited to return and photograph this beautiful couple’s big day. Lindsey and Austin were married this past Saturday in the lower area of the barn, with a reception following in the upper level, and it was such a fabulous affair filled with laughter and love.
This gorgeous Pacific Northwest wedding is proof that a little (or in this case a whole lotta) rain can’t dampen the joy between two crazy-in-love people on their wedding day! Madison and Robert were married on the cliffs of Rosario, just a few minutes away from Deception Pass Bridge. Surrounded by their closest family and friends who traveled from all over the world to be there, the two of them exchanged rings and vows, while promising to be each other’s best friend and confidant for life.
This was such a beautiful celebration on Whidbey Island at the lovely Comforts of Whidbey Winery! A combination of military tradition, tranquil lavender, and vintage touches amongst a serene backdrop made this afternoon wedding absolutely lovely. And what a family affair it was….
In a whirlwind week, we said aloha and goodbye to Hawaii after an amazing trip to Kauai for Ben and Rebekah's beachfront wedding. In fact, my tan (and this freckly Irish girl uses the word "tan" loosely) hasn't even faded yet, and yet I couldn't wait to get looking through their gallery of their incredible day.
Everything about Ashley & Dave's historic mansion wedding was completely swoon-worthy. From the monogramed robes, immaculate garden landscape, incredible floral arrangements to the sparkler-send off, start it was an incredible day start to finish. The weekend was a total whirlwind.
Everything about this Whidbey Island wedding ceremony was magic. From Angie & Erik's first look deep in Fort Ebey's beautiful forest, to their I-Do's at the historic Crockett Farm in Coupeville, the whole day just transitioned from one memorable moment to the next. The couple exchanged private letters with each other before walking down the aisle and becoming husband and wife. Guests drank signature cocktails and played lawn games before creating custom hamburgers catered by Front Street Grill.
Last night's stylized session was a dream come true! A few months ago my wildly talented photographer friend Kim (of The Big Day) and I were catching up at Whibey Coffee, and a vision of collaborating on a Roman inspired wedding shoot began to evolve. We imagined the rocky cliffs of Rosario Beach and a beautiful bride in a gorgeous flowing gown standing upon the rocks at sunset...
Talk about the epitome of the PNW at its finest! Usually the turquoise waters surrounding our island are in the distant background of photos, but for this maritime wedding, it set the scene for one of the most unique ceremonies I've photographed. Tiffany and Jon celebrated their I-do's surrounded by their closest family and friends on a whale watching tour boat docked out of Anacortes. For about 3 hours we cruised the open waters, passing bald eagles and various densely forested islands I didn't even know existed, until we came to a stop to watch an orca pod breaching and tail slapping in the distance and eventually coming right alongside the boat.
Courtney and Mandi’s Seattle wedding was an absolute dream. I mean, I seriously can’t get over it. Friday, the couple had an intimate ceremony with just family present, while the following day they had a festive celebration at the Rainier Chapter House with all their loved ones and friends. Every single wedding detail was so thoughtful and unique, from the custom printed stationary to the delicate embroidery on the inside of Courtney’s suit. Both the ceremony and reception venues were swoon-worthy, the flowers were incredible, the party was kicking -
